ANNE MARIE GROSVENOR 1951-2010

ANNE MARIE GROSVENOR
1951-2010

 How can we say this?
Where do we begin?

This will be the last entry here at
"drawing-a-blank"

Our much loved Annie,
wife
mom
daughter
friend
and neighbor
was called home to Heaven in the early hours
of the morning
 October 9, 2010
just a few short days ago.

We started missing her immediately ...
and will forever.
Her soul touched everyone she met ...
and that smile ... it had an affect!

We do know, though, that she is with the Lord ...
Isn't that such a comfort?
She's probably already got a styling job in her new home ... making heaven look a little better.

Annie,
you will
forever live
in our hearts.

we will meet again!

  1. I just recently discovered her blog and am sorry to read this. I hope that God comforts her family and for someone that only knew her a very short time, what a talented person she was.

  2. Oh dear friend,
actually I've never lost a friend before.
    where does one begin?
    tears fall
    memories race
    sadness hurts
    you are greatly missed
selfishly I wanted one more buying trip with you or three or four or a hundred ...
you left ... you were ready, but I was not
    Welcome Home, Annie
    I love you,
    Joy

  3. My heart is heavy. The world has lost a wonderful woman. Annie was a reader of my blog and I was the first customer of her lovely online shop. My sincere condolences to her family, friends and all that 'knew' her online.

  4. Please know dear Annie that my prayers are with your family and I pray that the Holy Spirit will comfort them and give them strength and peace at this time of sorrow. But I know you are in a far better place and for that I rejoice in Jesus Christ who conquered all death and suffering. And I know you are resting in the arms of our Saviour and King and praising God for His mercies.
You will be missed dear one...
    Love

  5. Annie,
I know you are with our Savior, That it's probably stupid to comment on your blog... I was so looking forward to visiting with you again. You were such a joy Annie, such a presence. I enjoyed it everytime I was in the same room as you.
Thank you for befriending my Mom. Thank you for being so kind to my children. They remember you very fondly - Aidan still talks about the little bell you gave him at last years sale.
I rejoice that I will get to visit with you again.
    Love, Angela

  6. Oh, Annie…Annie…Annie
I was NOT prepared for this sudden ending… I’m so thankful I had a short, although very sweet, visit with you last week. I told you I would be back soon to see you…sigh…but I’ll have to wait…and rest…in the comfort of knowing, I WILL see you…AGAIN.
You are one of the most talented women I know in this business…(if only I retain half of what you taught me!)
Heaven’s just a wee bit prettier these days with their #1 Display Artist…in house.
Now, if I may, use your words…
    “k, kiddo…love ya”

  9. I remember meeting Annie at a blogging get together early this year. The room lit up when she walked in. I was immediately drawn to her, and we exchanged a few emails every so often. Her light shone through those as well, always encouraging, always funny. Dear Sweet Annie - my heart is heavy here now - but knowing you are Home, gives me peace. Knowing I'll see you again, and we can finally have the time to really get to know each other. My prayers for your family during this time of heavy sorrow.

  11. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Annie's passing.I met her four years ago when she had her shop "To Market".One of my favorite shops.I was not her friend just a customer. But she had that special quality to make you feel as though you were her friend.Every time I visited her shop as I walked in she always greeted me and called me by my first name.Maybe because we share the same name. But I feel she had a special quality that made you feel as though we were long time friends. She was a lovely person.I was sad to hear when she was leaving her Ridgefield shop.I unfortunately never saw her again.I have many things in my home that I bought from her shop that I will always cherish. My heart goes out to all of her family and close friends.I know your heart is broken. But she is in a special place in Heaven. And she will always have a special place in your hearts.God bless you all.

  12. Dear family of Annie,
I had the pleasure to meet her a year ago, and she was the first person to enter my life who was diagnosed with cancer. Sad to say, I now have a very close aunt who is suffering severly over cancer now. Annie's strength is what was so inspiring...

She is in my family's prayers, as are you.

    Very Sincerely,
    Anne Marie

  13. "In my Father's house are many rooms.... I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." What joy Annie must have being with the most talented artist of all time.

Annie, We're praying for your family & friends ...Polly

  14. I'm so sorry for the loss of Annie. I've been thinking of her so much over this last week. I was a customer at To Market To Market, my favorite stop anytime I was out on a Saturday. (My husband asked if it was necessary to go every weekend!)

I look around my house now and Annie's touch and taste is everywhere. Even here on my desk is a little silver donkey I bought from her for 10 cents. We laughed about how it had sat on her desk so long, and now it'd be on mine. Just after her diagnoses, she came to my house to do a color consult. She talked about not having fear and how she planned, not to fight her cancer, but to 'love her cancer.'

She was one in a million, truly lit up a room, put smiles on faces all around her, and will be missed by more than you know. God bless and God speed Annie!

  15. I was blessed to know Annie a short time. I just came back to see how she was doing and found the news of her passing. I, too, know that she is with the Lord and there is no better place. To her family and friends, may the same Lord Who is intimately acquainted with Annie comfort you and draw you to Him if you don't already KNOW Him. Annie's life was gladly His instrument to bring His love and light to all of you. Bless Annie's memory by seeking to know just Who is this One she called her Lord. She is missed.

  16. Just recently I was wondering about you Annie, wondering if I'd receive an email or postcard about a special sale. I am very sad to learn of your passing and I feel blessed to have met and been inspired by you. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Your smiles and warmth will remain with me always.
