I love the mix of formal with crusty and earthy.
My favorite clock, a gift from a dear friend
A nice old rusty wall cabinet with shelves, hooks, and  hanging bar
Antique linen towels with varying weaves and color

It's all about mixing texture, shape, and color (or lack of).

What floats your boat?

  1. I love this! I'm with you on "lack of color". Creates calm. I notice just about everything you do in the visual sense creates calm. The rhythm of the 4 towels is so wonderful...could just look and look at it.

  3. Hey Annie
Hope you are enjoying the sun this morning as we woke up to snow...still snowing in fact.
    Happy first day of spring!
My daughter and her family left for Naples this morning for treatment for the twins. They will be down there for spring break as her husband is a teacher. Blessings to you today!

  4. Hi Annie! You lucky duck -- the beach sounds great right now -- it was really cold and rainy yesterday. Oh well -- March in the Midwest. What's floating my boat right now is Victorian arts and crafts (like photocollage), Victoria and Albert (I'm going to get the new book with my b-day $$), and monarch-related collectibles. That's my vintage crush for this show season. Hope to see you soon. xo

  5. What floats my boat is simplicity -- the ultimate in sophistication -- much like what you have pictured above.
